Executives of the GFF tell their side of the story – 19th Dec 2012

Two days after a press conference by Guyana’s National Football Captain, Chris Nurse, executives of the Guyana football Federation have come out in front of the cameras to tell their side of the story, that has resulted in players calling for a restructuring of the executive of the governing body for football in Guyana.

The Executive members denied some of the assertions made by Nurse and his team mates

The GFF executives says they continue to act in the best interests of all involved and will continue to fulfil their mandate to the best of their abilities.
Well the football action continues to be separate and even unequal as we saw in some of the score lines so far.

Over at the GCC in the Banks DIH /GFA Knock-out Cup, The first game between Blueberry Hill FC out the mining town of Linden and Caribbean United made up of mainly Barbados based players, should be in its closing stages while it will be the men from the mining district of Kwakwani taking on the boys from next door GFC’s Bourda Blues, in what is expected to be a thriller starting at 8. The Kwakwani Strikers are expected to put up a good performance with some persons predicting an upset.

Over at the Buxton Ground in the Kashif and Shanghai Tournament the first game which pitted Timehri Panthers against BV Triumph should be in progress while the feature clash will see home favourites, Buxton United, clashing with Winners Connection. Buxton United are riding a wave of confidence after having a good couple of games in the recent past and are confident of progressing through the tournament.

Guyana 20/20 Captain, Veerasammy Permaul, and his band of players are having their readiness tested in some warm-up games organised by the GCB. Today’s game which started at 5:30 in the afternoon should still be in progress at the National Stadium at Providence and the GCB will be hoping that the players use the opportunities given to get themselves sharp for a competitive series come January.
