Guyana Road Safety Council targets 50% reduction in road carnage and accidents for 2013 – 12th Dec 2012
The Guyana Road safety Council is targeting a 50% reduction in the road carnage and traffic accidents for next year.
Today, Coordinator of the Council, Romona Doorgan, said, while financing continues to be a major setback the Council intends to focus on their educational drive.
And today, the association was presented with 100 stop signs by a senior PAHO/WHO Advisor. He is urging road users to stop and think.
Chairman of the Road Safety Council, Nigel Erskine, is calling on the public to play their part. He said, the Council is working closely with the Guyana Police Force’s traffic department. Erskine said, recently a number of seminars were held as the Council urged drivers to play their part.
Schools around the country will benefit from the signs.
