Former Senior Member of the Golden Jags speak out – 12th Dec 2012
Guyana’s football has nowhere to go if the current handlers do not change the way they do things. This is according to a senior member of the Golden Jaguars. Kayode Mc Kinnon, a former Guyana Captain, has been playing for Guyana since the age of 15 and he quit playing for Guyana after the El Salvador game in the recently concluded World Cup 2014 qualifiers.
Mc Kinnon said, many of the players have sacrificed much to play for their country and it is expected that the administrators will not let them down.
Mc Kinnon, a midfielder has played for the Guyana National Team and the Antigua Barracudas Football Club. Following Guyana’s failure to advance to the next round of the qualifiers and the resignation of Head Coach, Jamaal Shabazz, several players have called for the removal of some members of the GFF’s executive, the most vocal has been Captain of the Golden Jaguars who has circulated several e-mails and has now started an online petition for a no-confidence vote against the GFF administration. The GFF has yet to hold a detailed press conference to deal with the grouses expressed by the players.
