Fire guts Church Street Flower Shop – 10th Dec 2012
Nesha’s Flower World is no more after a fire of unknown origin gutted the Church Street business on Sunday afternoon.
The owner of the business, Yasmin Deonauth, said, she received a call around 5 pm, indicating that her business was on fire.
She related, that the building was well stocked for the Christmas season. Deonauth estimates her losses to be in the millions. The business was divided into two sections with the upper flat used as a storage bond and the lower flat housed the store.
Fire Chief, Marlon Gentle, was on the scene and he told reporters, that there was a lot of combustible material in the area believed to be the origin of the fire.
Deonauth told reporters, that this is the third time the business has gone up in flames. She said a vagrant set her last location on fire.
She said it is possible that incident may have repeated itself.
