The West Indies go into the 3rd one day later this evening well aware that another loss would hand them one of their most humiliating series losses ever in one day cricket. The WI were thrashed by lowly ranked hosts Bangladesh in the second of 5 one day internationals, by 161 runs on Saturday, to fall 2 games behind in the series. Coach Otis Gibson said, he expects the WI players to lift their game to ensure they stay in the series.
And The Captain of Guyana’s Golden Jaguars, Chris Nurse has said, that the next international engagement for the Jags is in February of next year and he hopes that the GFF is already on the ball with arrangements.
The call came just days after Jamaal Shabazz resigned as Head Coach of the Jaguars. Nurse and several other players have written long e-mails outlining their grouses with the GFF. They feel let down by the actions of some members of the Federation and have even said that they may no longer want to represent this country under the present situation.
The GFF has so far issued a brief statement on the issue and promised a press conference to address all the issues raised by the players. T he GFF said then that there were some critical reports outstanding and they needed these to make informed statements on the way forward.
