EZJet reimburses passengers – 30th Nov 2012
Stranded EZJet passengers today flocked the airline’s Brickdam office as word got around that the company would commence airline tickets reimbursements.
The exercise for the most part did not go down well with some passengers, who were looking for cash payments, but the company was reportedly issuing post dated cheques.
EZJet’s operations were suspended by the United States Department of Transportation, because the carrier owes huge sums to the aircraft lease company resulting in a number of flight cancellations. Shortly after that move, Civil Aviation Authority suspended EZJet’s Guyana license.
The Minister of Transport, Robeson Benn said, the Government was unhappy and disappointed over the misfortunes of the low cost carrier. That collapse comes months after RedJet, another low cost airline, filed for bankruptcy after complaining about unfair competition in the aviation market.
