Mentally ill man attacks school boy – 28th Nov 2012
A Brickdam Secondary school student was wounded by a man of unsound mind this morning.
The incident occurred just outside the Parliament Building on Brickdam that is occupied by vagrants and other persons.
The boy, Kenneth David, told reporters he was on his way to school when he saw the man picking up the piece of wood, but was unaware that he was a target.
David was rushed to the GPHC where he was treated for head injuries and sent away. He told reporters that he has already forgiven the man, but want to see him off the streets.
His brother Devon who came to his rescue told members of the media that persons on the scene began beating the mentally ill man, who had to be rescued by the police. Eyewitness to the incident spoke of what transpired.
David’s mother told reporters that the authorities have to get serious with vagrants and people of unsound mind roaming the streets.
The attacker was injured from the severe beating he received from members of the public and is receiving medical attention.
