QC moves over to Richard Ishmael Secondary – 26th Nov 2012
The Ministry of Education today announced that as exterminators try to control the flea infestation problem at Queens College a decision has been made to have QC students housed at the Richard Ishmael Secondary school temporarily. From Tuesday, a shift system will be implemented at Richard Ishmael to accommodate the QC students.
Students of the Richard Ishmael secondary will attend classes from 7:30 in the morning until 12:15 in the midday.
QC students will then move in from 12:30 and go through classes until 4 30 in the afternoon.
The Ministry is hoping that by the end of this week, the situation will be under control.
For the entire of last week, students at QC were forced to stay home due to the flea infestation problem.
The problem may be bigger than first thought and exterminators intend to carry out a thorough pest control job.
Rentokil is spraying the building for the third time since last week.
In an effort to reduce the loss of school hours, the Ministry of Education has put arrangements in place for the students and teachers of Queen’s College to share the use of Richard Ishmael Secondary School.
Students and Teachers of Richard Ishmael Secondary will attend school from 07:30h – 12:15h beginning tomorrow November 27, 2012. The students and teachers of Queen’s College will then use Richard Ishmael Secondary from 12:30h – 16:30h.
This arrangement will continue for the remainder of this week.
As a consequence, the Ministry of Education will hold a meeting with Parents of both Queen’s College and Richard Ishmael Secondary today, Monday November 26, 2012. This meeting will be held at 16:30 hours at Richard Ishmael Secondary School.
The Ministry of Education will continue to monitor this situation.
