Bandits fatally stab taxi driver after trying to aid robbery victim – 26th Nov 2012
An East Coast Taxi driver was killed after he came to the aid of a woman who was robbed by bandits. 32-year-old Omar Harper of Cummings Lodge and Trooper Taxi Service was stabbed by one of the escaping bandits while giving chase.
The bandits had earlier robbed Latchmi Sookraj of her cellphone and other items. His mother Naomi Harper told reporters that her son was rushed to the GPHC where he was admitted and transferred to emergency theatre where he succumbed.
His brother Shaffic told reporters that his brother died doing what he loves and that was helping people.
The police are counting their investigation into the matter.
