City Council to allow street vending for Christmas season – 21st Nov 2012
The Georgetown Mayor and City Council will allow some aspects of street vending for the festive season, but no new vendors would be allowed. City Mayor Hamilton Greene made this announcement on Tuesday when he spoke to this newscast. Greene said the vendors will be doing so under several conditions.
He said, the he met with the vendors and discussed the issue. He told them in the absence of the council not having approval for a new Georgetown plan, which the Government is looking at since 1999, a decision was taken.
The Mayor said the council will be monitoring the situation and will clear the streets if the vendors do not comply.
