Queens College flea infestation – 20th Nov 2012

Queen’s College students and teachers are expected to return to the classroom on Wednesday, after the school was forced to shut down on Monday, after an infestation of fleas in the compound. The situation appeared out of control and the school had no choice but to end classes and have everyone go home. It’s unclear what may have been the cause of the invasion, but the compound is known to attract stray dogs and cats.

Pest Control was called in and the buildings and compound were sprayed out. Nearby buildings are said to have also been affected but not as bad as the school itself. Queens College is Guyana’s leading High School.
