Guyana Government to reimburse disgruntled REDjet customers – 15th Nov 2012
Transport Minister, Robeson Benn, has announced that the Guyana Government will soon begin reimbursement of those disgruntled REDjet customers.
That is several months after the airline was grounded due to what it called unfair competition.
The low cost carrier REDjet signalled its closure and has applied for bankruptcy protection. He said, that the payment was as a result of several issues, between the receivers, the company and the bank.
The Minister said an official announcement will be made in the press.
The Barbados-based carrier had suspended operations in March, after competition from other airlines put it severely in the red. Attempts to get financing from the Barbados and Guyana Governments failed and the airline remained grounded.
