President Ramotar addresses corruption at Sustainable Management seminar of the Extractive Sector – Nov 14th 2012
Corruption in the extractive Sector remains a big concern according to Guyana’s Head of State and ways must be found to limit this. President Donald Ramotar was speaking at a seminar to Discuss Sustainable Management Of Guyana’s Extractive sector.
The President also noted that there are negatives associated with extraction of resources and these would have to be managed.
Also making a presentation was the UNDP representative to Guyana, Khadija Musa, who also noted that there have been many concerns raised about the effects of extraction activities.
Also making a presentation was Mongolia’s former Minister of Mining.
The seminar continues tomorrow where policy issues will be addressed.
