Guyana Government to set up Commission of Inquiry to examine mysterious Ecuadorian aircraft – Nov 7th 2012
The Guyana Government has decided to set up a Commission of Inquiry, to examine the case of that Ecuadorian aircraft which was discovered on an illegal airstrip after it was repainted. The aircraft is believed to have been parked at the Ogle Airstrip for months, but no one apparently paid much attention to it or who was in control of it. The administration says, it now wants to get to the bottom of exactly what was going on with the aircraft.
The members of the commission will be taken from the security forces and the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit, Civil Aviation and the private sector. The Government wants to trace the activities of the aircraft while it was in Guyana. Some security officials believe the aircraft may have been used for drug flights and drops across the borders of the country.
