Bandits rob and murder poultry farm truck driver – Nov 7th 2012

Gun toting bandits made off with 700 thousand dollars, after killing the driver of this poultry farm truck and injured one of the porters.

Dead is 56-year-old Aga Khan, he was shot in the neck, and subsequently died on arrival at the Diamond Hospital.

The incident occurred in Buzz Bee Dam Craig East Bank Demerara.

According to the police, Khan was attacked by four men, one of whom was armed with a handgun and others with knives.

At the hospital last night his brother, Sherif Khan, told members of the media what was related to him of the incident.

Aga Khan has three children and his brother described him as an easygoing person. He told capitol News the area is frequently traversed by criminal elements.

Khan said, that the porter who was wounded was transferred to the Georgetown Hospital and is receiving medical attention.

Late last night police investigators were checking the scene for spent shells and any other clues that could help them capture the suspects.

One person was detained and he is assisting the police with their investigations.
