City Council targets businesses and street vendors

The cash strapped City Council is targeting businesses and street vendors in an attempt to clean up the city. She said the council would also publish the names of defaulting taxpayers with the hope of garner much needed funds to run the affairs of the city.

This move comes as piles of garbage are popping up everyday, where.

Town Clerk, Carol Sooba, said, that the situation is getting way out of hand and she is calling on citizens to play their part.

Sooba said, that the council is working along with the Keith Borrowers Implementation Commission on a number of programmes.

There are calls in opposition circles for Local Government reforms to put an end to the inner fighting between the Mayor and Council and the Central Government.
