AFC, Government continue to trade blame over Agricola unrest

The Government wants to exploit racism and is trying to divert attention from the issues of corruption that are taking place, that’s the view of the Alliance for Change.

The Government has been blaming the AFC for organizing the unrest at Agricola, where a number of people were reportedly robbed by elements in the community.

At a press conference today, AFC leader, Khemraj Ramjattan, said, that the party was not involved and strongly condemned the action. AFC Vice Chairman, Moses Nagamootoo, believes that the Government is trying to use violence to stir up hatred.

And Nagamootoo did not take kindly to statements made by the Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy on the issue of corruption.

He said, that Dr. Ramsammy lacks the moral authority to speak on corruption.

The Government is restarting a series of corruption debates on the state owned NCN.

Nagamootoo wants the Government to go after those who are involved in the multi-million dollar fraud at the same NCN.
