Family of child killed by minibus driver threatens legal action

Vibert Hunte who lost his 6-year-old nephew in an accident two months ago is now threatening legal action against the minibus driver.

Kellon Europe was fatally struck down by a route 72 minibus driver on Mandela Avenue, near the South Ruimveldt Shopping Plaza Bridge on August 13th.

Hunte said, that what is troubling is that the police never charged the suspect for causing death by dangerous driving. According to Hunte, the man was charged for driving under the influence of alcohol and breach of insurance.

Hunte said, that all the family is looking for is justice and the full arm of the law to be applied in this case.

Hunte said, that to lose a loved one in such a manner and have no progress in the investigations leaves much to be desired. He believes that justice is dead for persons who are struggling to make ends meet in this country.
