Guyana’s Golden Jaguars face Mexico this evening in the FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifiers

Boxing: Fistic Fury can be expected as Hurry Up Promotions finally gets Foreign Invasion Up and running. The card is set for tomorrow night at the Thirst Park ground. Several big names headline the card including, Howard Eastman and world-rated Leon ‘Hurry Up’ Moore.

The main bout is between Simeon Hardy and Howard Eastman.

Leon Moore said, he was very pleased with how things are going and expects  fans to turn out in their numbers to support the card.

Also on the card are Clive Atwell taking on Orlon Rogers, Edmond De Clou battling Jermain King, Mitchell Rogers coming up against John Douglas  and The promoter himself, doing battle against Carlos Pena out of the USA. Fight time is 8 o’clock.

Weight Lifting: And World record setting Powerlifter, Winston Stoby, has been promised funding for his next trip after his recent record breaking exploits in the US. Stoby paid a courtesy call on Sport Minister, Frank Anthony.

Stoby was outstanding at the World Powerlifting Championships setting a new deadlift record  to win his category beating his nearest competitor by over 50 kgs in total.

Football: And Guyana ‘s Golden Jaguars will be in action later this evening in Texas, as they face Mexico in their second to last match, in the Fifa 2014 World Cup  qualifiers. Guyana are technically out after losing their last match at the Providence Stadium in September.

Coach, Wayne Dover, is in charge of the match which was moved for financial reasons.
