Spin will be the trump card when West Indies take on England, says Captain Darren Sammy
Spin will be the trump card when West Indies take on England, in their first Super 8 match, in Sri Lanka on Thursday. This is according to Captain Darren Sammy. Sammy was giving a preview to the second stage of the 20/20 Cricket World Cup Super 8. Sammy said, the team will be looking to be consistent on a pitch that should help his bowlers. West Indies will be looking to capitalize on facing an England sqad which was shot out for a measly 88 by India in their last match, but Captain Sammy said, they will not be taking anything for granted. The West Indies will be also keeping a sharp eye on their run rate since that is what propelled them into this stage after both of their preliminary matches were affected by rain.
West Indies women led by 58 from all rounder Deandra Dottin, easily beat New Zealand in the first match of their World 20/20 Cup campaign. Dottin smashed 58 off just 42 deliveries and Stefanie Tayloe made 38 off 43 balls, to post an 82-run partnership. Anissa Mohamed took 2 wickets, as well as taylor to limit the New Zealanders to 117/9 off their 20 overs. The ladies next match is against Host Sri lanka in Galle.
