West Indies women are set to open their campaign tomorrow in Sri Lanka.
After the progression of the men’s team to the second stage of the 20/20 World Cup, the West Indies women are set to open their campaign tomorrow in Sri Lanka. The West Indies are in goup B and will play New Zealand on Wednesday, Sri Lanka on Friday and South Africa on Sunday.
Stefanie Taylor and Deandra Dottin are expected to feature highly, as well as destructive bowler, Anisa Mohammed. They will be led By Merissa Aguillera who said, that they will be looking forward to playing in the more favourable weather conditions in Sri Lanka. Coach of the Women’s squad, former West Indies opener, Sherwin Campbell says, the women have all to play for and are well prepared.
The last time the tournament was played 2 years ago in the Caribbean, the West Indies reached the semi-finals.
