Alleged police harassment of 12-year-old boy in the community of Pouderoyen angers residents
The alleged police harassment of a 12-year-old boy and other youths within the community of Pouderoyen, is angering residents who along with the APNU, highlighted the issue by protest action today. The protest was conducted outside of the Vreed-en-hoop police station and at the party’s regional office.
The residents are calling for immediate action to be taken by the Commissioner of Police, since in their view, the officer is operating out of control.
APNU’s Executive Member, Joseph Harmon, and Attorney–at-Law called on the Commissioner of police to take command of the force.
He pointed to incidents of the past in Linden and Agricola that have left many unanswered questions.
Just recently Police Commissioner, Leroy Brummell, pledged to take action against persons who are bent of destroying the image of the force.
