Post Mortem examinations of teen shot dead by Police conducted
For relatives of Shaquille Grant, the findings of the post mortem confirmed what they have been saying all along – the teenager was shot in cold blood by the Police. Gordon Grey, the grandfather of the dead boy, was allowed to observe the post mortem early this morning. The post mortem was conducted at the Georgetown Hospital by pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh.
Grey said that he intends to take the necessary course of action to have justice served in the matter.
Shaquille Grant and a group of friends were reportedly liming under a shed when ranks of the Guyana Police Force swooped down on them. The police are contending that the men opened fire on them, but that account was dismissed by residents who told Capitol News that the police cornered the men and began shooting.
Police commissioner Leroy Brummell told Capitol News on Thursday that wherever the investigation leads he will go. He also revealed that the ranks involved in the incident were removed from active duty.
