The opposition coalition (APNU), has written to the Commission of Inquiry, objecting to the appointment of two city attorneys with connections to the Chambers of Attorney General, Anil Nandallal.
The party said that the appointments of both Uclin Gomes and Ganesh Hira, as Attorneys for the Commission of Inquiry, are unacceptable.
APNU Executive and Attorney-at-Law, James Bond, reading from the party’s statement said, that a letter was dispatched to the commission and an acknowledgement letter was received from the secretary of the commission.
Attorney-at-Law, Joseph Harmmon, pointed to statements attributed to justice Wolf, the Chairman of the Commission, who said that the findings of the commission would be based on evidence.
APNU will set up an office at the office of the Leader of the opposition to take statements from persons on the July 18th shooting death.
Attorney-at-Law, Basil Williams, and other attorneys, are on the ground helping residents to formulate their statements.
The commission was sworn in last week and promises to take all the evidence on board, during the inquiry.
