Guyana’s Golden Jaguars went down 3-2 to El Salvador in a match they desperately needed to win

In Football: Despite putting up a strong showing; Guyana’s Golden Jaguars went down 3-2 to  El Salvador, in a match they desperately needed to win in order to keep their chances of advancing in their group. Coach, Jamal Shabazz, was realistic in defeat saying that depite the loss, he saw more belief in the team members about themselves.

Shabazz said that he will continue to work to the end of his contract and help the team prepare for their next big assignment, The Gold Cup.

The Golden Jaguars has 2 remaining games against group leader, Mexico and Costa Rica. Coach Shabazz also hinted that in the upcoming games they will be exposing  more of the younger players to this level of competition.

And Caribbean sports commentator, Joseph Reds Perreira,  continues to play a leading role in trying to raise funds for Former under 19 cricketer and commentator, Sean Devers. Devers is due for brain surgery in October and is trying to raise  in excess of 5 million dollars for the surgery which is expected to take place in Trinidad.

The Kaieteur News staffer revealed several months ago that he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that is getting progressively worse and needed surgery. There have been several efforts locally and in the region to raise funds for Devers.
