Post mortem reveals former Police Commissioner Henry Greene died of a fractured spine
A post-mortem conducted today showed that former Police Commissioner, Henry Greene, died of a fractured spine and other internal injuries.
Greene died following an accident Friday on the West Coast of Demerara.
Eyewitnesses claimed that he was driving towards Georgetown when his vehicle swerved into the other lane, slamming into a car and a bread delivery truck.
Greene was pulled out of the wreckage by persons in the area. They said he was crying for help.
A nine-year-old Berbician girl also died in the accident.
Greene was forced out of office earlier this year owing to a nasty sex scandal in which he moved to the High Court to block being charged for rape after a 34-year-old woman claimed he forced her to have sex with him in a city hotel. Greene had denied raping the woman, saying that she consented.
He served an estimated seven years as Police Commissioner during his almost 4-deacde long career in the Guyana Police Force.
