Alliance For Change appalled that no criminal charges have been laid against those culpable at NCN
The Alliance For Change has said that it is appalled that in the face of all the evidence unearthed about wrong doing at the State-owned and controlled National Communications Network (NCN), there continues to be little or no movement as regards to criminal charges being laid against those culpable.
Chairman of the AFC, Nigel Hughes, said that this does not augur well for the rule of Law and urged the authorities to ensure it is corrected.
Several irregularities were discovered in the administration of NCN after an inquiry was launched into its operations. It was all triggered after the Parliamentary Opposition voted to cut the subvention to NCN and a probe was launched to ascertain if the entity really needed a subvention. This was in response to an admission by NCN that it garnered over half a billion dollars in revenue in 2011.
