The main issue facing the council is last month’s appointment of the current acting Town Clerk, Carol Sooba by the Minister of Local Government. The council and its supporters hold the position that Ms. Sooba is not qualified for the position. The Burrowes Implementation Committee, acting on behalf of the local government ministry, has denied several proposals from the City Council asking for funds.
