DCC beat Transport to win Brainstreet 50-over under 15 cricket tournament final.

DCC A, easily dispatched Transport in the finals of the Brainstreet  50-over under15 cricket tournament. Batting first DCC A made  249/5 off their 50 overs with Kevin Imlach top scoring with 73. Cletus Johnson made 62 and Kevin Harry, 36.

Transport never seemed in the hunt and were eventually bowled out for 94. Kemo Paul took 6/24 and Daren Crandon took 3. Today’s final marked the end of the Cup stage of the tournament. The League stage which was completed earlier was won by GYO.

Guyana’s Rugby team  suffered mixed fortunes on their latest outing – the Nacra  Sevens  World Cup qualifier in Ottawa Canada last weekend. Guyana  failed to reach the main final losing to Barbados and eventual champion Mexico, but won the plate Championshp.

Henry also made a call for more support for teams representing Guyana .

Young footballers undert 13 years of age will have a chance to showcase their skills in the 2nd Annual Little League Football Tournament.  The one day affair set for the Thirst Park  ground  is on for the second year running  and has several sponsors, according to President of the Kingston Sports Club grassroots Soccer Academy.

Forrester is based in the US and says he has a desire to help youths find things to do with their free time, hence the competition.

The theme for the tournament is played with the spirit of Love and Oneness and the under 13 will play 2, 10-minute halves while the under 10 will play 2, 8-minute halves. Trophies and medals will be awarded  for 1st to 3rd place with individual prizes will be given to the MVP player scoring the most goals and the best goalkeeper.
