City workers continue to object to the appointment of Carol Sober to act as Town Clerk

As city workers continue to object to the appointment of Carol Sober to act as Town Clerk. Mayor Hamilton Greene said he is more concerned with the Local Government Minister igonoring  the request and desire of the council. Mayor Greene said that he is prepared to work with Sober.

The Local Government Minister sent the Town Clerk, Treasurer and C ity Engineer on leave as allegations of financial irregularities surfaced. The police were called in to investigate the allegations. Some councillors were up in arms against the decision to appoint Sober said that it was a political move and questioned if the former legal officer has what it takes for the job.

The council recently voted for Public Relations Officer Royston King to act for Town Clerk Yonette Pluck who was sent on leave pending an investigation into alleged financial mismanagement at city hall. these allegations were made following an assessment conducted by the Keith Burrows Implementation Commission. Burrows and team accused the Town Council of having phantom staff on their payroll and paying excessive overtime to to council workers.
