GYSM supports Linden Protests
There is more condemnation of the police killings at Linden and the PNC/R youth group is the latest to add its voice.
At a press briefing today GYSM executive James Bond said the president needs to realize that he is accountable to the people. Bond who was shot several times with rubber bullets during a protest last year said that he finds it strange that the President is unwilling to meet with the people on the ground.
The youth group believes that what transpired on July 18 could have been avoided. The youth leaders echoed calls by others for the Home affairs Minister to resign .
The GYSM is calling on all Guyanese to lend support to the people of Linden.
Citizens of linden were protesting against increased electricity rates when 3 of the protestors were shot dead when the police opened fire.
