Minister of Culture Youth & Sport Dr. Frank Anthony optimistic about the state of cricket in Guyana

With all the turmoil surrounding the state of Cricket in Guyana Minister of Culture Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony is still optimistic that the sport will be properly administered following the work put in by the IMC.

The Government moved to the court to put a halt to the daily functions of the Guyana cricket board after the administration believed that the sport was not properly managed.

Now that issue is still being played out in the courts and it could continue for a while.

The problems surrounding cricket locally has forced to West Indies Cricket Board to cancel all matches that were expected to play in Guyana.

And In basketball;

The National Community Basketball League (NCBL) Basketball action continues after the all star break, as Kwakwani takes on Central McKenzie in the quarterfinal on Saturday 14th of July at the McKenzie Sports Complex.

 The action moves to the city on  Sunday with , Plaisance/V-Lust matching skillswith Wismar at 9pm after whichMc Doom/Diamond will battle the winner of the Quarter final showdown.

So far the tournament has seen a poor turn out and Coordinator of the League Bobby Codogan in an interview with this newscast pleaded with Basketball lovers to come out and show their support.

Both semi final games will be played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
