The AFC is demanding an apology from President Ramotar for the racist editorial in The Chronicle
The Alliance for Change is now demanding an apology from President Donald Ramotar who is also the Minister of Information for the racist editorial that the state owned newspaper Guyana Chronicle carried last week.
AFC Executive member Gerhard
Ramsaroop condemned the controversial editorial which sought to indicate that young black men were being groomed to attack, rob and be violent against Indians.
AFC believes that the firing of the reporter who wrote the article and the suspension of the newspapers editor is not enough. The Party is calling for the Board of the state owned media which includes radio, television and print to be reformed, a call the part has been making for some time now.
During this week a number of social and political activists staged picketing exercises in condemnation over the editorial.
