Commissioner of Police Leroy Brummell has granted amnesty to some members of the Guyana police force who are involved in corrupt practices to resign rather than to destroy the image of the force.
The comments were made while he was addressing ranks at the tactical services unit drill square Eve Leary following the traditional route march to usher in the 173rd anniversary of the force..
The police chief also called on those persons who are contributing to the corruption by offering and give bribes to stop. And all this week the Guyana police force is observing its 173rd anniversary and to kick start the week of actives the lawmen moved to the streets in the traditional route march on Saturday. The salute was taken by the minister of home affairs.
