West Indies cricket Captain Darren Sammy says that his team will be looking to be consistent in all 3 areas of the game batting bowling and fielding when play New Zealand He said for the past few series the West Indies have been playing catchup and that will have to change if they are going to have improved results. West Indies and the Visiting New Zealand team clash in the first of 3 one day internationals starting at Sabina Park Jamaica tomorrow. Sammy said the back to back victories against New Zealand in Miami over the weekend will not lull them in a false sense of security.
In the meantime prolific lefthander Chris Gayle says that its good to be back in the fray and said that it is special for him to be playing his first one day back in front his home crowd and that he will be working hard to help the team to win. He said even though New Zealand is not at full strength they will not be taking them for granted .He sees himself Pollard and Dwayne Bravo playing a leading role as senior players.
The Tour of Guyana ended as it started for the DC Jammers Basketball team of The USA, on a winning note. The Jammers last evening won a close encounter 80—71 virtually shutting down the Nationals in the closing minutes of the game. For the Locals their coach admitted that though his team played well the fourth quarter is always where they need to be stronger
The Coaches of the DC Jammers team said they were very happy with how the tour went and complimented the Guyana team for their level of play. They said the aim of these trips is to bring a different level of Basketball here.
