The P.P.P. is still making efforts for its former executive member Ralph Ramkarran to reconsider resignation
The People’s Progressive Party is still making efforts to engage its former executive member, Senior Counsel Ralph Ramkarran to reconsider that one line resignation letter he dispatched to the party’s General Secretary, President Donald Ramotar over the weekend. Ramkarran appears to be fighting off those efforts. Today President Donald Ramotar broke his silence on the issue. Speaking to Capitol News here in St Lucia, the President said Ramkarran served the party well and he is still hoping for him to reconsider cutting ties with the party.
Ramkarran’s resignaion came after a heated meeting with other executive members of the party. Some of those members were not happy with the former speaker calling the party and government out on issues of corruption. President Ramotar who continues to hold on to the General Secretary position in the party said the resignation appears a spur of the moment move.
Senior counsel Ramkarran has been raising a number of concerns about the way the party founded by Cheddi Jagan was heading. He is not the oly senior party official to be raising concerns.
