Over 11 million dollars will be at stake in the Digicel Horse Race Classic set for July 22 at the Norman Singh Memorial Turf club.
The event will have 8 races including the feature B class for 2yr olds. Top prize for that event will be 2 million dollars.
Organiser of the tournament Mr. Sancho said the assistance of Digicel has helped to make horseracing more popular.
Digicel sponsored the event last year and over 50 horses have been registered so far for the event that also sees beverage company Ansa McAl pitch in to make the event truly memorable. Digicel’s Advertising Manager Ramesh Roopchand and Ansa Mc Al’s Darshni Yussuf both underscored the benefits their companies see in supporting the event.
Several other activities will take place on the day of the meet that will ensure patrons benefit.
Two teams will face off in the final game of the GFF super League. Amlia’s ward will take on Milerock in a clash that will see Amelia’s Ward going up to 3rd position. Milerock is in 7th position and a win will not change their position. The top 8 teams begin their shootout in 12 days.
