Town Clerk Yonnette Pluck is disputing some of those allegations leveled against the council
Town Clerk Yonnette Pluck is disputing some of those allegations leveled against the council by consultant of the Keith Borrowers implementation commission Raymon Gaskin.
The local government minister Ganger Persaud is now in receipt of the town Clerk response to the allegations of financial irregularities, phantom staff on the council payroll and excessive overtime paid by the council.
She said that the council have outstanding payments for NIS, and GRA which is engaging the attention of the court, Pluck said that a decision was made by the council how they will rollout those payments for GRA.
The Town Clerk also addressed the issue of the non-functional garbage disposal trucks in city hall bond, she said that the trucks were reconditioned and encountered electrical problems.
In 2009 Keith Borrowers was named as chairman of the implementation commission and worked along with Pluck and the other financial staff at City Hall. However what is striking to Pluck is that she learnt of the allegations in the press and she is beginning to feel undone over the entire situation.
City mayor Hamilton last week said that the council is not prepared to condone or contribute to corruption.
