Double tragedy for slain businessman family
In a strange turn of events a storage bond used by the gunned down owner of Pest Control Mohammed Shahabudeen Baksh was gutted by an early morning fire on Thursday ; just five days after Baksh was shot and killed.
According to reports the building was packed with hardware, tools, electrical supplies and other items and caught fire just around 1:30 this morning.
A Prashad Nagar resident who did not want appear on Camera told capitol news that he saw the fire in the early stages at the side of the yard.
He said that he and another friend alerted the nearby Prashad Nagar police station and they summoned the Guyana fire service.
And good work by the Guyana fire service contained the blaze to just the one building .
Back at the scene this morning police ranks were there keeping a close watch on the building. It is still unclear how the fire started.
Baksh succumbed to his wounds on Saturday, less than one day after he was shot in a restaurant and bar in the city.
