Lack of funding, dumping of garbage in front of the area of the blind association is raising concerns.
The Guyana society for the blind continues to embark on programmes to assist their members but the society has been faced with numerous setbacks and financing is one of the main ones.
When this newscast spoke with the president of the society Cecil Morris he said that the society on a daily basis assist persons that are visually impaired.
And the dumping of garbage to the entrance of the society is another sore issue that overtime repeated pleas to the authorities have failed to address.
The society for the blind has recently embarked on a literacy programme and is seeking funding to continue. The association has just over 120 members.
