Taxi drivers on the move to accommodate road construction.
As the expansion work continues on the east bank Demerara road some taxi drivers plying their trade in the diamond housing scheme are beginning to get worried about their removal without any relocation plans in place.
The operators have been using the area in front of DDL (Demerara Distillers Limited) as a park for a number of years and are also fed up about the condition they are forced to operate under.
Another issue of concern to the drivers is what they call the double standard approach taken by some mini-bus operators who they believe are trying to hamper their livelihoods.
Since the construction of the new diamond housing scheme getting in and out of the scheme was done by hire cars.
