Guyana Government given US 8million dollars worth of laptops for the one Laptop Per Family Project.
The Guyana Government was today given a grant of US 8million dollars worth of laptops for the one Laptop Per Family Project thanks to the Chinese government.
The grant is for the supply of 30,000 laptop computers.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held today at the office of the President , Public Relations Officer of the OPLF project Dario McAlmon said that the One Laptop Per Family OLPF Project is now in its second stage.
He said too that the application process for this stage of the project caters for persons who earn up to a hundred thousand dollars per month and that the distribution process will soon follow.
And David Huang of the China National Machinery Corporation IMC said that his company will try its utmost to deliver the laptops on time for the project.
The first stage of the project saw the distribution of laptops to low income families.
The OLPF project was launched last year with the aim of placing 90,000 laptops in homes across the country.
