GPSU continues to push for the confirmation of the (GGMC) commissioner Karren Livan to be confirmed.
The Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU) continues to push for the confirmation of the Guyana Geology & Mines Commission (GGMC) commissioner Karren Livan to be confirmed, and noted what the Union calls, plans to sideline her from that position.
The union began making its position known following what the union believes was an attempt by the Minister of Natural Resources Robert Persaud to appoint an outsider to head the GGMC. At a press briefing today the Union went after the Minister and the Chairman of the GGMC board for not lending full support to Livan.
The Union says another incident has made it clearer that the Chairman is non supportive of the staffers there.
The public difference has attracted widespread criticisms from persons in the Mining sector.
