Coalition Heads into Upcoming Elections With the Name “Partnership For National Unity”
The joint opposition parties heading into the upcoming elections have come up with a name for the group. The coalition group will head into the elections under the name a Parnership for National Unity.
The group which consists of the Peoples National Congress Reform, the Working People’s Alliance, the Guyana Action Party, The National Democratic Front and the Guyana People’s Partnership will head into the elections with the PNC Reform’s David Granger as the Presidential Candidate. An official campaign launch will take place this Friday.
The Partnership for National Unity is also expected to unveil the group’s official symbol for the elections. The symbol will appear on the ballot paper along with the name Partnership for National Unity.
The group has not announced a prime ministerial candidate but there are reports swirling about who that person could be. Reports indicate that the party intends to host a number of events as part of the launching of the partnership.
The joint opposition parties began talks last year in preparation for the upcoming elections. They believe that a united opposition could unseat the ruling people’s progressive party.
