Normalcy Returns To Lethem After Flooding

The head of the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) is reporting that region nine is returning to a level of normalcy. The Lethem community which is one of the many areas affected by last week’s major floods has moved to the clean up stage.

Head of CDC retired Colonel Chabilall Ramsarup said the schools in the region have resumed classes and the community is back to work. He further added that some communities outside of Lethem may need additional help before some persons could think about returning home.

Ramsarup noted that some ten communities have benefited thus far and more relief supplies are being transported to the different areas. But while the roads from Linden to Lethem may have reopened there is a weight limit.
