Prison Security Beefed up After Recent Prison Break

[bitsontherun Ffikzm2y]
Security is expected to be beefed up at prisons around the country even as a commission of inquiry was set up to investigate yet another prison break at the New Amsterdam prison. Early Saturday morning four inmates who were on remand for murder charges removed boards from the northern section of a wall in the male block and then ripped out zinc sheets from the eastern side of the fence and made good their escape.

Those on the run are Rickford La Fleur, Kevin Narine, Vijay Seenarine and Vinod Gopaul. The police are saying that the men may be armed and dangerous. A massive manhunt is on the way for the men by the police.

La Fleur was recently charged with the murder of Cleveland Hetymeyer aka water dog. He also is facing charges for trafficking in narcotics. In addition, the four were implicated in the murder of fellow prison inmate Sebastian Cleto who was brutally killed in a cell in May. Meanwhile the local law enforcement agencies have notified their counterparts in neighboring countries about the escape. They are working on the theory that it likely that the men may have skipped the country.

This latest prison break comes just days after a prisoner was escorted out of the same prison and taken to Suriname by a prison officer.
