UN Volunteer Program to Host Lecture Series on Volunteerism and National Identity
Volunteerism is being identified as playing an integral role in achieving Guyana’s development objectives over the years. The United Nation Volunteer Program will host a five part lecture series on volunteerism and national identity in Guyana.
Project Coordinator, Rawle Small said the lecture series is a way of adding to the increasing conversation and energy around volunteerism and its contribution to the country’s development.
Small noted that the forum will enable the organization to educate the public while bringing together a wide cross section of stakeholders including volunteers.
The public lecture is slated for June 10 from 4pm to 6:30pm at the Umana Yana under the theme volunteerism, culture, society and development in Guyana.
Retired Major General Joe Singh and Barber Thomas-Holder are the two speakers expected to be on the lecture panel. An open discussion segment will follow after each speaker would have completed their 20 minute presentation.
