Granger lashes Out at the Government and CDC Disaster Preparedness
Presidential candidate of the opposition people’s national congress reform David Granger is saying that there is more to the devastation in region 9 than the picture painted by the administration.
At press conference at congress place today Granger said his visit to the flood hit areas reveals that situation is been aggravated by unplanned settlement, under-developed infrastructure and an unprepared administration which is overwhelmed by the catastrophe.
Granger noted that as one of Guyana’s largest regions Lethem must be upgraded to a town status and the road to Lethem completely resurfaced as quickly as possible.
Granger and other top party officials also distributed relief supplies and emergency equipment to residents in the affected areas.
