Private Sector Calling for Change
The business community is calling for essential policies and institutional changes to push forward higher levels of private investment in the country’s economy.
Private Sector Commission, Chairman Ramesh Dookhoo strongly believes that a change in the political culture of the country is needed if businesses are to develop. He was speaking at the 19th Annual General Meeting of the Private Sector Commission on Thursday. Dookhoo said the political and ethnic division in the country is an area of concern not only to local investors but foreign investors as well.
The chairman during his report noted that over the years despite the many challenges the private sector has seen significant growth even during the recent global recession.
