US-AID Awards Grants To Government Enhancement Project
The United States Agency for International Development (US-AID) through its governance enhancement project awarded two organizations with grants totaling over US 35 thousand dollars.
The Guyana Council of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities and Merundoi were presented with the grants to help inform and encourage the public about the elections process. US-AID Mission Director, Carol Horning said the organizations through their ongoing work will be able to reach a wider cross section of society as the country prepares to host yet another general election.
The two representatives of the organizations said they are pleased to be given a chance to use their work as a way of educating the public about what is needed to be done on elections day.
One of the important areas of US-AID is to work with the Guyana government in ensuring that a free, fair, and violence free elections is held.
